Model 400 GMX Magnetic Fluid
Conditioner
For 1/4" to 1/2" Tubing or Pipe.

APPLICATIONS
Primary
Applications:
Residential
and commercial applications wherever hard water is
present (fuel lines, swamp coolers, commercial ice machines,
fountains, printing equipment, commercial dishwashers).
INSTALLATION
Please
Note:
Each Model
400 set consists of two pieces--one with a north polarity
and the other with a south polarity (the GMX label covers
the north pole piece). One north pole/south pole set is
recommended for 1/4" to 3/8" lines and most
automobile applications. Two sets are recommended for 7/16"
to 1/2" lines and most diesel truck applications.
1-1/4"
nylon bolts are provided with the Model 400.
1-3/4"
bolts are available from GMX International.
1. Insert
the bolts through the holes in both units [north pole and
south pole].
2. Secure
the bolts with wing nuts the regular shaped wing nuts are
for normal installations. Locking wing nuts are also
provided for more secure installations. Tighten until the
wing nuts are snug. Do not over -tighten!
3. If
the units do not clamp securely to the tubing, place a
sleeve of plastic or rubber tubing over the existing
tubing. This is recommended for tubing smaller then 5/16"inside
diameter.
4. Install
the second Model 400 set 1/2" away from the first
following the same installation instructions. Make sure
that the north pole units[with the GMX labels] are lined
up so that both are facing in the same direction on the
same side of the tubing. Also be sure that there is a 1/2"
space between the two sets. |
SPECIAL NOTES
Placement:
For water
systems the Model 400 should be installed wherever the
fluid enters the equipment being treated. Single sets may
be used as boosters for individual appliances, or on
moderate temperature recirculation systems.
For fuel
systems the Model 400 should be placed 6" to 12"
away from any high heat source such as the manifold or
the exhaust system. And 12" away from diagnostic
control centers (computer) and sensors. Sets can be
mounted on the fuel line anywhere between the tank and
the engine, On fuel injected engines, mount the sets on
the line to the engine not the return line. When treating
a semi-closed loop system line (ice machine, swamp
cooler, dishwasher) install the Model 400 inside the
equipment after the circulating pump.
Direction
of Placement:
The GMX
label is placed over the north pole unit in each set. The
direction the fluid flows through the tubing makes no
difference.
For best
results when placing the Model 400 to treat a particular
area or appliance, place the sets at least 8" to 12"
upstream (before) the area or appliance to be treated.
Do not
place the Model 400 close to an electrical power line or
electrical equipment capable of generating strong
electrical fields, such as a welder or large electrical
motor. This can reduce effectiveness.
For
Maximum effectiveness, magnetic conditioning requires a
smooth calm flow of fluid through the magnetic field. a
partial reversal of treatment may be triggered by
turbulence. Therefore always place the Model 400 a
minimum of 8"to 12" downstream (after)any pump
or other turbulence-causing device.
Non-Ferrous
Pipes Only:
Install
the Model 400 only on a straight section of non-ferrous (PVC,
rubber plastic, copper ,or stainless steel) pipe or
tubing--not on steel or iron . Don't place it on any
tubing to which the magnets stick. The penetration of a
magnetic field through iron or steel (except for
stainless steel) pipe is minimal, because the magnetic
field travels along the exterior of such tubing
preventing it from reaching the fluid. In such cases,
replace a 12"section of steel tubing with non -ferrous
tubing and then install the Model 400 on that section.
Stabilization
Period:
On water
systems: for a few weeks after installing the Model 400
you may notice an increase in water turbidity (cloudiness)
this is because scale is being removed from the system.
During this stabilization period, carefully monitor
filters, tanks, and sumps each week, and drain or clean
them as needed.
On fuel
systems: a temporary decrease in mileage and an increase
in emissions may be noted after installing the Model 400.
This is a temporary condition resulting from the removal
of accumulated deposits from the fuel system and
combustion chambers. |
